Back at the Ranch
After the birthday party The Miller's headed out (all sugared up) to BBR! My parents and the Pops just bought a home there to replace our family retreat that burned down five years ago in the wildfires. This was our first time to the new house, we had only seen it in pictures and walked around the outside back in August. Unbelievable! The house it's self is beyond words. Literally, I can't even begin to describe it! It looks out over a beautiful meadow with Black Butte sitting right behind it. (See above.) I ran out of batteries and memory so I was only able to capture one portion of our wonderful weekend. But probably my most favorite part...We arrived in complete darkness and woke up (EARLY!!!) to a pasture full of the most beautiful horses. Apparently this is the meadow where they keep their bigger "work" type horses. There are 17 total in the pasture and Mimi says they tend to eat breakfast near our house then rest. We gathered up some apples and carrots and went out the back door (can you believe it!) to feed the horses!!!!!! I would say it's like 50 yards! Here is Grace, with the house in the background. You can actually walk right over the ramp and into the field...if you want to. Mr. is not a huge horse guy, so he was more comfortable with all his chicks on the safe side. The girls LOVED being this close to the horses and feeding them. Jane didn't make many pictures because she was so busy going back and forth for more food (you can see the whole backside of the house in the final picture with Jane). Anyway, we had a great time with my parents (Mimi & Papa). Mr. and I took an awesome hike through a meadow and on some of the paths on the ranch. We all went to "use the facilities" at the Pool...hot tub, steam room, and some water side action! We did some shopping in town and just hung out at the house. We never wanted to leave! Thank you Mimi & Papa and K & M...what an amazing gift you have given your family! I know Grandma and Gramps are enjoying it too...this was their dream for us.
